It’s all about Italian flavour!
Be ready to indulge yourself with a visit to the Bel Pease, Italy is coming straight to the centre of Perth.
Take a journey through the most popular Italian wine regions: Tuscany, Veneto & Sicily. Ask our chefs for your favourite Italian dish, and our DJ for a selection of Italian chart hits. Make Italy closer at Festival Italia!
This September Festival Italia is coming back to Perth, better and bigger.
Our goal is to make Italian wine more approachable and accessible, and to showcase in Western Australia quality Italian modern food, combined with traditional cooking methods. We aim to create a new generation of Italian wine and food lovers by providing a fun, interactive event where participants can experience the passion of Italian wine, food and culture first hand.
Festival Italia aims to increase market share for Italian wine and food in Australia, resulting in improved sales for importers, winemakers, retailers, and restaurants.
The Festival Tasting Hall is where the leaders of the Italian wines distribution in Australia gather to pour over 100 select wines from iconic Italian district regions, including Tuscany, Sicily, and Veneto. Discover exciting new wines, or return to your favourites, and learn about Italian grape varieties grown in Australia. Indeed, Australia this year takes centre stage at the Festival Tasting Hall showcasing more than 20 wines locally produced from Italian varietals.
Take a leisurely stroll among the Festival Market stalls, sample and shop from a variety of quality Italian foods. Ask for your favourite Italian dish, our chefs are there live cooking on the spot for you. The most amazing Italian restaurants at the same time in one place, from fine dining with Perugino Restaurant, to having a rich plate of gnocchi with Amici Miei or a yummy tiramisù by Davvero Restaurant. Food stalls featuring pasta, cold meats, fruits and veggies, Italian patisserie, coffee, gelato, and the ever popular Aperol spritz, are there to complete our selection.
For the very first time, the Italian chef Roberto Dal Seno is flying to Perth to host our Italian chef demonstrations. Bring your notebook and write down what Roberto teaches about traditional and modern ways to prepare pasta, different fillings and sauces, and original plating techniques. Roberto cooking shows are alternated with pizza making by Il Paiolo Catering, fish soup creation by Maurizio Restaurant, and cakes decoration by Sweet of Daddy from the Italian city of Vasto.
Don’t miss the chance to chat the experts up! Our wine classes are hosted by personalities such as Tristram Fini (Late Night Valentine), Emma Farrely (Petiotion Bar), Stefano Madau (Samuel Smith & Son), Michael Tamburri (La Vigna), Foni Pollitt (Odyssea), Max Veenhuyzen (Gourmet Traveller). They will guide you on a one hour journey in the world of the finest Italian wines and Amari.
